Last week, Djamila Ribeiro confirmed that she will lead the coordination of a new collection of works on feminisms.

“I am very happy to announce the new partnership with the Record group, through the Rosa dos Tempos publisher: the Global South Feminisms Collection,” highlighted the Brazilian philosopher on her Instagram profile.

The objective, according to Djamila, is to establish the important and necessary dialogue between feminists from various countries who have faced the consequences of colonialism over the centuries.

“There are many initiatives for exchange in this sense, and I am happy to be able to contribute to the dissemination of the thoughts of authors in Brazil,” she wrote.

Djamila will write the first book, which will bear the name of the Collection. The second title, ‘Dalit Feminism,’ will gather publications from authors in India who question the caste system of that country.

Since 2017, Djamila has been redefining the route of the publishing market, with the publication, in countries like France and Italy, of black Brazilian authors from different places and perspectives. She also participated in the publication of Colombian authors, such as Velia Vidal, and has been promoting launches of writers from independent publishers through the Plural Feminisms Space.
