SAVE THE DATE! <\/strong>On September 24th, at the Cantor Film Center in New York, starting at 7 p.m., Djamila Ribeiro and Ibram X. Kendi will participate in a conversation about racism in Brazil and the United States. On Instagram, the Brazilian philosopher highlighted the importance of the event, which is part of her public event schedule as a faculty member at New York University, NYU.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m thrilled to join the great Ibram X. Kendi (@ibramxk)<\/a> on September 24, at 7 PM, at the Cantor Film Center in New York for an unmissable conversation on antiracism in Brazil and the USA. The event is part of my public calendar of special lectures as guest professor at NYU. I deeply thank Kendi for accepting my invitation. This is a unique opportunity to reflect on urgent issues and share experiences around the antiracist struggle,” she wrote.<\/p>\n

Since the beginning of September, Djamila Ribeiro has been teaching at NYU. The philosopher has taken up the Andr\u00e9s Bello Chair in Latin American Cultures and Civilizations. Additionally, at the end of August, her book Where We Stand<\/em>, the English edition of the bestseller Lugar de Fala<\/em>, was released by Yale University Press.<\/p>\n

Ibram X. Kendi is the Director of the Center of Antiracist Research, at Boston University. A National Book Award-winning author, a MacArthur Fellow, and the writer of the international bestseller How to Be an Antiracist<\/em>, he was named one of the 100 most influential people of 2020 by Time<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n
