Continuing the launch tour of ‘Where We Stand’ (Yale University Press), last week, Djamila Ribeiro visited two renowned institutions in the Southern United States: Spelman College in Atlanta and the University of Georgia in Athens.<\/p>\n
“I had the honor of delivering two distinguished lectures at Spelman College and the University of Georgia. At historic Spelman, I had the honor of being at the first college for Black women in the US, founded in 1881, a space full of history and struggle. The reception from the professors and the university, which made sure to record the entire event for its archives, deeply moved me,” wrote the Brazilian philosopher on her Instagram profile, also highlighting her visit to the University of Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
