Professor Djamila Ribeiro<\/strong> chaired the organizing committee of the Pina Ball<\/strong>, held on September 16. The benefit event marked the 120th anniversary of the Pinacoteca of S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong>, one of Brazil\u2019s most important museums. In addition to her institutional role, Djamila also wrote the afterword of the commemorative book<\/strong> published for the occasion, reaffirming her commitment to valuing art as a collective good and as part of the country\u2019s historical heritage. \u201cAs a board member and patron, my commitment is to work on behalf of this important museum,\u201d<\/em> Djamila wrote on her Instagram profile.<\/p>\n One of the evening\u2019s most emotional moments was her meeting with singer and composer Paulinho da Viola<\/strong>, a reference in Brazilian music and Black culture. \u201cI was moved to have presented and met the great Paulinho da Viola, who graced this night of solidarity,\u201d<\/em> she noted.<\/p>\n
