Djamila Ribeiro launches her YouTube channel
Starting now, the public will be able to follow Djamila Ribeiro’s work on YouTube as well. The Brazilian philosopher shared the news on her Instagram profile and via Central Djamila, her WhatsApp channel created last December. The goal is to broaden the ways in which her content circulates.
This move marks a new chapter in Djamila’s efforts to disseminate critical thinking and democratize access to education. Through this new platform, viewers will have access to videos, interviews, debates, and reflections that were previously concentrated on social media and her website.
By expanding her presence on YouTube, Djamila reinforces her commitment to constant action in the struggle for spaces of voice and information. That is precisely what the fight against racism demands.
The choice of platform also reflects the Brazilian reality: YouTube is one of the most widely used networks in the country, reaching millions of people across different regions and age groups. “Bringing discussions about structural racism, whiteness privilege, and Black feminism to this space is both a political and pedagogical strategy,” Djamila states.
