Digital Expansion: Djamila Ribeiro Launches LinkedIn Profile and Broadens Professional Dialogue

The Brazilian philosopher joins the world’s largest professional network to share her reflections and behind-the-scenes insights from her role as a professor at MIT.
The digital presence of one of Brazil’s most influential contemporary thinkers has just gained a new—and strategic—address. After building a community of millions on Instagram and recently launching her official YouTube channel, Djamila Ribeiro has officially joined LinkedIn.
This move marks a new phase in the philosopher’s communication strategy. Her decision to occupy this space stems from the realization that her intellectual production—as both a writer and professor—already circulates widely in corporate and professional settings.
In her debut post, Djamila explained that the page is intended to be a hub to “publish reflections, share texts, announce event schedules, and engage in dialogue” with an audience looking for more depth than what traditional social media platforms typically offer.
“I’m really going to try—because you have no idea what it means, for a woman my age, to commit to managing yet another social network,” she joked, showing the light-hearted way she approaches the challenge of digital omnipresence.
From MIT to the Corporate World
Her LinkedIn debut comes at a time of great academic significance. Djamila is currently wrapping up a semester at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in the United States—a rare period that offered her the gift of “free time” for rest and writing.
LinkedIn will now serve as a direct bridge between U.S. academia and the Brazilian public. Djamila confirmed that next semester she will teach a course titled Feminisms of the Global South at MIT and intends to use LinkedIn to share key insights and reflections developed in the classroom, democratizing access to knowledge produced abroad.
A New Personal Brand
To mark this new chapter, Djamila’s arrival on LinkedIn comes with a visual refresh. Her profile and banner photos are part of an exclusive shoot by photographer Ricardo Barcellos, created as part of a rebranding project and new personal identity developed by FutureBrand São Paulo.
