“An unforgettable night in Washington DC!”: Djamila Ribeiro launches ‘Where We Stand’ at ‘Politics and Prose’

Washington D.C. – Last Friday (25), Djamila Ribeiro concluded the first part of the launch schedule for ‘Where We Stand’ in the United States with a grand finale.
“The launch of my book Where We Stand, published by Yale University Press, was truly memorable. The anticipation was already high, as it was held at the iconic Politics and Prose bookstore, where so many U.S. presidents and internationally renowned authors have launched their works. Yet, the packed venue and sold-out books exceeded all expectations!” celebrated the Brazilian philosopher on her Instagram profile.
The event was organized by the Brazilian Embassy in the United States.
“I am deeply grateful to the Brazilian Embassy in the United States for organizing the event. A special thanks to Ambassador Maria Viotti for her generous words. She is a source of pride for Brazilian women and has done inspiring work at the embassy,” highlighted Djamila, also praising the presence of the group Women of Brazil D.C., represented by Denise Sarchiapone and Camila do Amaral, “for their invaluable support at the event.”
We will soon announce the second part of the launch schedule for the English edition of ‘Lugar de Fala’ in the United States, which will include stops in California and Massachusetts among other states.
