Brazilian professor brings a new perspective on culture and social impact to the financial market

Djamila Ribeiro is now part of the client portfolio of Galaticos Capital, a multifamily office co-founded by entrepreneur, former football player, and 2002 World Cup champion Ronaldo Fenômeno. The Brazilian professor and philosopher will have her wealth management and family governance overseen by the firm, which is expanding its reach beyond the sports and financial sectors to enter the cultural arena.

With R$ 1.5 billion in assets under management, Galaticos Capital was established in 2023 as a joint venture between Ronaldo’s R9 Investimentos and Galápagos Capital, founded by Carlos Fonseca, a former partner at BTG Pactual. The firm already serves athletes, artists, and public figures, and is now seeking to further diversify its portfolio by including leading names in culture and the arts.

Author of seminal works such as Lugar de Fala (Place of Speech) and Pequeno Manual Antirracista (The Little Anti-Racist Handbook), Djamila joins this new phase of the company, reflecting a strategy focused on valuing intellectual and artistic trajectories. The Brazilian philosopher stands out for her leadership in the fight against racism, Black feminism, and the production of critical knowledge in Brazil and abroad.

In addition to Ronaldo, Galaticos Capital also counts footballer Gabriel Jesus and Viviane Leal—CEO and Ronaldo’s own wealth manager—among its stakeholders. The company has set an ambitious goal: to reach R$ 5 billion in assets under management by 2026.
