Djamila Ribeiro launches ‘Where We Stand’ at a public university in New Jersey

Last Friday, the 11th, Djamila Ribeiro presented Where We Stand to the Rutgers University community in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The conversation was led by Professor Kim Butler, an expert in the Black diaspora.

 

 

“It was very special to participate in a conversation with professor Kim Butler at Rutgers University, in New Jersey, about the English edition of Lugar de Fala. Professor Butler has books about Brazil and is a great scholar of the black diaspora around the world. A beautiful and respectful exchange for an attentive and welcoming audience”, highlighted Djamila on her Instagram profile, adding: “My gratitude to the departments and professors who made this meeting possible.”

 

 

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is one of the top public research universities in the U.S.
The launch schedule for Where We Stand, published in the United States by Yale University Press, continues this week. On Thursday, the 17th, Djamila will be at the University of Georgia in Athens.
