On September 13, Djamila Ribeiro launched “Cartas para minha avó” (Letters to my grandmother) in the city of Campo Grande (MS), followed by a conversation with the audience.

On her Instagram profile, the Brazilian philosopher thanked everyone who attended the event.

“I would like to thank all the people who attended the book signing of my book “Letters to my Grandmother”, at Livraria Leitura in Campo Grande, the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul state”.

The Brazilian writer pointed out that the book signing was part of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the School of the Public Defender of Mato Grosso do Sul.

“I came to the city for the first time at the invitation of the Mato Grosso do Sul Public Defender’s Office, one of the oldest in the country, which is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the ‘Escola Superior da Defensoria Pública de Mato Grosso do Sul’. I gave the opening lecture today and I would like to thank the general public defender Pedro Paulo Gasparini and the director of the school Igor Linjard for welcoming me so well. And thank you Joanara Gomes, public defender in Sidrolândia city, for mediating it”.

And there was still time for Djamila to visit the Pantanal Biopark, a complex with almost 5 million liters of water.

“And here’s hoping I return. I visited the largest freshwater aquarium in the world, but I still wanted to do more,” she concluded.
